The Bible has a mouthful to say on happiness, depression and even anti-aging. Let me quote from the book of Sirach:

"Don't deliberately torture yourself by giving in to depression. Happiness makes for a long life and makes it worth living. Enjoy yourself and be happy, don't worry all the time. Worry never did anybody good and it has destroyed many people. It will make you old before your time." (Sirach 30: 21-24)

Been obsessing about finished work that caused me terrible loss of sleep earlier. In other words, I brought along my worry to my dreams. So, I only slept--a light one at that--for two hours! Plus, I woke up perspiring amidst the early dawn cool.

This restlessness made me think about that phrase "crying over spilled milk," which shouldn't be the case in the first place, as I don't think it could even be considered "spilled milk." It was a pretty much well-done work considering my bouts of (un)inspiration recently.

Nevertheless, this restlessness somehow made me reopen the bible. I had nearly forgotten that the bible has always been a great source of "practical" wisdom.

Thank you Lord for your words of encouragement. I vow not to worry today!
